Knitted Cap Pattern

Materials:

About 2 oz. Alpaca Sport Weight Yarn
Size 10 straight needles
Gauge:4 sts = 1 inch

Pattern:

Cast on 64 stitches.
Rib in K2, P2 for 4 inches.
Work in stockinette stitch for a further 4 inches.
Total should be 8 inches from beginning.

Begin decreases for crown:

Row 1:  K6, K2tog, repeat to end
Row 2: Purl row
Row 3:  K5, K2tog, repeat to end
Row 4: Purl row
Row 5:  K4, K2tog, repeat to end
Row 6: Purl row
Row 7:  K3, K2tog, repeat to end
Row 8: Purl row
Row 9:  K2, K2tog, repeat to end
Row 10: Purl row
Row 11:  K1, K2tog, repeat to end
Row 12: Purl row

There should be 16 stitches left.  K2tog across row.

Break yarn, leaving about a 20 inch tail.  Thread a yarn needle and weave tail through the 8 sts, pulling up tight and knotting.  Continue with sewing up side seam.

Crocheted Scarf Pattern

Materials:

P or Q size crochet hook. 
At least 65 yards each 2 strands Sport Weight Alpaca Yarn.  This works well with 2 strands of contrasting or complimentary colored yarn.

Pattern: 

Chain (ch) 76 or desired length (even number), turn
Row 1: Skip (sk) first ch, Single Crochet (sc) in next ch., ch 1, *sk 1 ch, sc in next ch*, repeat * * across, ch 1, turn

Row 2: sc in 1st sc, *ch 1, sk 1, sc in next sc*, repeat * * across, ch 1, turn

Repeat Row 2 until scarf is desired width.  On the final row, stop at the end of the repeat.  Finish off (cut yarn and pull through last sc).
